While many people celebrate the state holiday by participating in the Boston Marathon (or, at least, cheering on runners) there are countless other ways commemorate the Battles of Lexington and Concord. Visitors can brush up on their American Revolution history with a standard Freedom Trail tour, or join the annual ceremonial lantern lighting at the Old North Church. But for serious historical entertainment, watch one of the reenactments at Minute Man National Historical Park, Lexington, and Concord. Travelers may also want to consider joining a 26-mile Paul Revere Bike Ride, where they can trace the patriot’s midnight journey from downtown Boston to Concord.
