“The Bauhaus & Harvard” Opens at Harvard Art Museums

The Harvard Art Museums never fails in mounting thought provoking exhibitions like The Bauhaus and Harvard, running February 8–July 28. The exhibit coincides with the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Bauhaus movement in Germany and explores its importance through almost 200 works by 74 artists, nearly all of which came from the Busch-Reisinger Museum’s extensive Bauhaus collection. Fun fact: Harvard hosted the first Bauhaus exhibit in the United States in 1930 and later hosted the group’s founder Walter Gropius came to the school’s department of architecture in 1937.
