Mathilda loves to play outside with her friend Doggie, and getting muddy doesnt bother her at all. But she wont take a bath. Mathildas family asks the magical Mrs. Piggle Wiggle for help persuading Mathilda to come clean. This gentle show for preschool-aged children is adapted from a Mrs. Piggle Wiggle story by Betty MacDonald, and is performed with needle-felted animal puppets. Come for the show, stay to play with puppets. Best for ages 4 and up. Margaret Moody has performed hand puppet shows in schools, libraries, community centers and private events for more than 25 years. She studied traditional Taiwanese hand puppetry Bu Dai Xi with the I Wan Jan Troupe in Taiwan, and loves to include some of the arts lively acrobatics in her own stories. Margaret performs as a solo artist and also as a member of Galapagos Puppet Theater (NJ) and Dream Tale Puppets (Cape Cod). This performance is part of Puppet Pop-up, a week of creative puppetry events presented by Artbeat and Margaret Moody Puppets. Artbeat founder Jan Whitted says that hosting a puppet pop-up is a natural match for Artbeat. Helping people find time for expressive, creative play has always been a priority at the creativity studio. In Jans words, What if you could sit down for an hour and just play?
