Cambridge is known for many things, from innovation to education and that stellar view of Boston, but it’s also a breeding (err, feeding) ground for some of the best Mexican food around. Dine at these restaurants if you’re on the hunt for Mexican food in Cambridge.

Naco Taco

Chef Michael Scelfo (Alden & Harlow and Waypoint) took a different approach to delicious dining when he opened his second restaurant, Naco Taco. The team at Naco Taco, located near MIT and close to the Mass Ave bridge, serves Scelfo’s take on Mexican food, with tacos topped with grilled pork and mouthwatering burnt pineapple salsa and a duck confit version with sweet potato sticks, as well as classic Micheladas to quench the spring heat. Grab a coveted spot on the spacious patio. Naco Taco: 297 Massachusetts Ave., 617-945-1548

Lone Star Taco Bar

This rustic space just feels like the perfect outpost to dine on tacos (try the house made chorizo and the Dallas Spicy Beer version with longhorn cheese) and don’t miss the grilled street corn, smothered in cotija cheese, garlic lime aioli and cilantro. It’s a shareable dish..but that’s up to you! During weekend brunch, dig into the breakfast taco with scrambled egg, avocado crema and homemade salsa. Opt to add the chorizo and you’ll thank us. Lone Star Taco Bar: 635 Cambridge St, Cambridge, 857-285-6179

Border Café

It’s impossible to visit Cambridge (or go to school here) without dining at this iconic local restaurant. You’ll be tempted by the soft corn enchiladas, baked with plenty of cheese and stuffed with everything from pulled beef to chicken, but go straight for the old-fashioned steaming fajitas. Dig into the El Pueblo, a mix of shrimp and beef or kitchen cooked over mesquite logs for a smoky taste that stays with you all night or until your next margarita. Border Café: 32 Church St., Cambridge, 617-864-6100

Stop by Ole for the delicious margaritas and stay for the guacamole made fresh to order and served with homemade chips. Dig into traditional Mexican dishes like the Enchiladas Mole Poblano with roasted chicken and the Chiles Rellenos with plantains and Mexican rice. Ole: 11 Spring St., Cambridge, 617-492-4495

Felipe’s Taqueria

One of Freepoint’s most popular and recommended Taqueria, Felipe’s offers fresh ingredients with authentic recipes. From the Al Pastor to the traditional guacamole, everything is a must-try on the menu. Not only is the food amazing, but the bar offers fresh key lime margaritas! Felipe’s Taqueria: 21 Brattle St., Cambridge, 617-354-9944
