Fall in Boston is synonymous with changing foliage, crew teams sculling the Charles River and homecoming! The area has 50 universities in 50 miles, so it’s no surprise Boston and Cambridge blossom with things to do when the weather starts to cool off. Whether you have a student at one of the universities, are an alumnus, or are visiting the area, here are homecoming dates to remember at universities in Boston.
Tufts – September 29
Join other Jumbos at Tuft University’s homecoming festivities on September 29. The Homecoming Village at Tufts will have carnival games, photo booths, BBQ, and a kid’s corner.
Boston College – October 10
Soar like an Eagle when Boston College hosts its homecoming on October 10 as the football team plays Wake Forest.
Boston University – October 19-21
Enjoy Boston University’s campus for a Friends and Family weekend over October 19-21. The university’s homecoming coincides with the Head of the Charles Regatta and you’ll have a great position to watch the race from different points around the campus.
Emerson College – October 19-21
Students, alumni, and parents, get excited for Family Weekend 2018! Taking place over October 19, 20, and 21, you can participate in a mini-class and meet with professors before exploring Emerson’s unique corner of the city.
MIT – October 20
Cheer on the Engineers when they take on the U.S. Coast Guard Academy during homecoming on October 20. The game starts at noon so stop by the Charles River to watch the boats competing in the Head of the Charles River and spot some fall foliage before heading to the stadium.
Northeastern University – November 4-10
Gather your fellow Huskies for a late fall homecoming week (November 4-10) of sports and academics with events like a pre-hockey FanFest Tailgate and meetings with professors, alumni, and students.
Harvard – November 17
Catch a game during Harvard football’s 145th season, stroll through the quad, and grab dinner at one of the square’s restaurants this fall. Harvard doesn’t have an official homecoming weekend, but students, families and alumni will want to snag tickets to The Game, the legendary football match between Harvard and Yale taking place on November 17.
