April marks Freepoint Hotel’s first anniversary of opening in Cambridge, and we couldn’t be more excited!

It’s been a fantastic year for us, with several milestones since we’ve joined Boston’s vibrant creative community.

We’ve loved hosting guests in our contemporary rooms, with luxury amenities like Living Proof bath products. The Cambridge-based brand solves the toughest beauty challenges with science and patented technology originating from the labs at MIT.

We also opened Freepoint Kitchen & Cocktails, our signature restaurant from Food & Wine Best New Chef winner Matthew Gaudet. We’ve loved becoming a local hangout for breakfast and dinner in our residential-style lounge. And recently, we began offering “Freedom Hour,” with specials on appetizers and flatbreads every Monday through Friday from 5-7pm.

"Woman with Cape" art piece at Freepoint Hotel

Another key initiative for us this year has been to excite our guests and visitors through art. We’ve incorporated works from independent artists into the hotel. From the massive—25 feet by 31 feet!—“Woman with Cape” outdoor mural by Belgian artist Sammy Slabbinck to an indoor wall piece honoring the many innovations based in Cambridge by Polish artist Przemyslaw Kordys, guests are never far from a museum-quality work of art. And as of this month, we’ve started a pop-up exhibit series, Art@Freepoint, showcasing works from local artists in our lobby. For our inaugural pop-up show, we’ve partnered with Cambridge arts center Maud Morgan Arts, to curate 43 pieces from various media, curated from 150 submissions.

We’ve also been exploring Boston’s creative side through our podcast series on RadioPublic. Through various playlists, we shed light on the city so that visitors can plan their trip in advance, or even when on the plane here.
